Volvo V60 Render
Volvo V60 personal study in Blender, Cycles - recreating the clean studio aesthetic of Volvo's 2021-22 press renders with soft directional lighting and metallic paint.
This personal study from mid-2022 started simply because the V60 is my favorite Volvo. At the time, I was heavily inspired by the brand's official press renders. Their 2021 and 2022 material had a very recognizable, clean aesthetic - soft directional lighting, polished paint, and a deliberate emphasis on the car's body lines against simple studio backdrops. I wanted to see if I could replicate that specific look on my own.
The biggest challenge turned out to be the lighting setup. When you use very soft, diffused studio lights, it's easy to accidentally flatten out the creases in the bodywork. I spent hours tweaking the angle of the light sources just to catch the shoulder line of the V60 correctly. Getting the metallic paint to react to those highlights while still reading as a realistic, deep brand color was the main takeaway for me.
