Carvago Photography
A small selection of car handover and transport photos shot for Carvago - documenting the moment just before a vehicle reaches its new owner.
This photo series started when a colleague who used to handle the vehicle handover shoots for Carvago left. Since they needed someone to fill in, I decided to give it a try. I did not expect much at first, but I quickly realized I actually enjoy the work. These shots are a selection of what I shoot on a regular basis - just honest documentation of cars on the move rather than a polished commercial portfolio.
The main challenge with these handovers is the unpredictability of the locations. You are constantly dropping off cars in different suburban neighborhoods, next to old apartment blocks, or in front of modern houses. I had to learn how to quickly frame each shot to work with the surrounding architecture while keeping the key elements - the transporter, the car, and that signature yellow ribbon - balanced. Finding a way to make each delivery look distinct under whatever weather or light we get that day has been the best part of the job.
